Saturday, March 15 is the
Irvine Festival. This is a fun festival to attend. Our
jazz band competes with other high school jazz bands in
a competition at the Irvine high school located on
Walnut Avenue between Culver and Jeffrey in Irvine.
Wednesday, March 19th is a
jazz concert at MVHS in the MPR. This is casual evening
of jazz music by our jazz band. It is a fun evening to
hear the music that they have been working on for the
jazz festivals they participate in this spring.
Friday, April 4 - Sunday
April 6th our jazz band participates in the Next
Generation Jazz Festival in Monterey, CA. It is a
prestigious High School competition that is held every
year and it is challenging to be selected to
participate. The jazz band competes with 12 other high
schools from around the country. The performances are
incredible and the talent of the high school jazz band
musicians is amazing. It is also a wonderful opportunity
to listen to the professional jazz musicians that judge
this festival.
Friday, May 30th- Jazz
Night under the stars The jazz band performs at the home
of John and Claire Hannan on Friday, May 30, 2008. It is
a fabulous evening of good food, great jazz music by the
band and a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy it. This
evening brings to a close a great year of jazz.
